Privacy Policy

Soma Bodywork is committed to implementing and promoting a Privacy Policy that will ensure the privacy and security of your personal information and abides by the National Privacy Principles.

We will collect, maintain and use your personal information only for the primary purpose of providing you with advice and services.

We may also use your personal information for other purposes related to the primary purpose such as administration, planning, product development and research purposes.

Scope of Practice

Soma Bodywork therapists are licensed professionals and held to the highest standards of various Australian Massage Associations.

Myotherapy and Remedial Massage are professions in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.

Our therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. Our therapists may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment. Our services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any specific condition which requires medical treatment.

Full Cancellation / No show Policy

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice should you be unable to attend your appointment. If you are unable to provide 24 hours’ notice for cancellation/reschedule or if you don’t turn up for your appointment you may be required to pay a fee of $70.00.

The more notice you give the higher the likelihood of us being able to fill the spot. 

Last minute swaps are acceptable, if a client can’t attend a session that has been booked, a friend or family member can come instead

We understand that sometimes life gets crazy and that things pop up last minute. That’s why the first time it happens we are happy to waive this fee. You will be sent an email and/or a text reminding you of our policy and confirming the waiver.

All other times a flat rate fee of $70.00 per appointment will be incurred. If you have any questions, please email infosomabodywork@gmail.com

Consent  

You understand that your proposed treatment plan and aftercare advice will be discussed with you.

You understand that Myotherapy uses a range of modalities including deep massage, dry needling, cupping, heat and cold therapy and movement therapy.

You understand there may be tenderness for several days following a Myotherapy treatment and that this is normal.

To your knowledge you have no health concerns or uncontrolled medical condition that would affect your ability to receive Myotherapy care.
